2003 saw the introduction of the
New Shape Renault Scenic in 4 Different Trim Levels the Authentique, the
Expression, the Dynamique and the Privilege. It also introduced a selection of 3
VVT (variable valve timing) petrol engines and 2 dCi (diesel engines). The superlative multivalve petrol
engines saw an increase in power output to deliver instant response, ample
torque and smooth power delivery for enjoyable driving. The 1.4 16v develops 98
bhp, the 1.6 16v develops 115 bhp and the 2.0 16v gives 136 bhp. The Diesel Engines offer the benifits
of the latest generation high precision commonrail technology. Because they burn
every drop of fuel so efficiently their emissions and fuel consumption levels
are both commendably low. The diesel engine comes in three power outputs, the
1.5 dCi 80 bhp which was later joined by 1.5 dCi 100 bhp in 2004 and the 1.9 dCi
120bhp. The 2.0 ltr petrol and the 1.9 dCi
Diesel both are fitted with the new beautifully engineered 6 speed Renault
gearbox. An Automatic gearbox option is
available employing the sequential shift proactive gearbox. It uses advanced
computer technology to ensure the gearbox pattern matches your individual
driving style and can be overridden at any time putting you in total control. February 2004 also saw the
introduction of the 7 Seater Renault
Grand Scenic See Quick Check
